Sven Andrighetto used a solid weekend en route to being named the AHL player of the week.
After being placed on waivers early last week, the Swiss forward joined the IceCaps and made an immediate impact. With three goals and three assists in three games, Andrighetto was arguably the best player in a St. John’s uniform during their road trip.

Playing primarily alongside Michael McCarron and Chris Terry, the trio were nearly unstoppable as the IceCaps collected five out of a possible six points this past weekend.
Andrighetto is also the main catalyst driving an IceCaps powerplay that is converting at an extremely high rate of nearly 35% currently. Andrighetto’s presence has also freed up Charles Hudon to dominate the score sheet, as the young forward notched three goals this past weekend as well.

Despite many criticizing the Canadiens for sending him down, with performances like this it’s unlikely we’ll see Andrighetto down in the minors for long.
