Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergervin has been very busy today. Not long after news broke that Montreal traded Jared Tinordi for Stefan Elliott and All-Star Captain John Scott, the following ominous Tweet emerged from Bob McKenzie.
Doesn’t sound like Stefan Elliott will be in MTL long. Flipped already?

And now we learn that Victor Bartley is on his way to Montreal, Bartley is a defenceman with 112 games experience in the NHL. He has 1 goal over that span.
It turns out that Elliott never made his way to the Habs, and was traded to the Predators in exchange for Bartley, who was then packaged with Scott in exchange for Tinordi.
It’s a curious trade to say the least, but we’ll have to wait to see if there are any other deals in the works. We’ll update the situation as soon as we have more details.
