2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs

Game 3: Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Boston Bruins

Series tied 1-1

The Toronto Maple Leafs needed to be much better in their own zone, and in Game 2 they made that happen. Defencemen were aggressive around the net to prevent the easy passes to the crease that became goals in the opener. It wasn’t their usual style of play, however, and the question is whether they can maintain that brand of hockey over at least the remainder of this series.

Game 2: Vegas Golden Knights @ Dallas Stars

Mark Stone returned to the Golden Knights’ lineup and opened the scoring in Game 1. Unfortunately for the Dallas Stars, three more players joined Las Vegas’s captain on the scoresheet despite their efforts to hold the opponent to just 15 shots. It was another subpar performance in net for Jake Oettinger as he battles his playoff demons, and he’ll need to figure things out to salvage at least one home game to start the series.

Game 2: Los Angeles Kings @ Edmonton Oilers

EDM leads 1-0

Usually when the post-season arrives, the high-flying offence that teams enjoy in the regular season disappears as the attention to defence rises. It just looked like Game 83 for the Oilers, however, as they faced very little resistance from Los Angeles. Connor McDavid had five assists, Zach Hyman had yet another hat trick, and Edmonton rolled to a 7-4 win. The Kings know they need to tighten things up, but that’s, going to be tough if Edmonton zips around the offensive zone as it did in Game 1.
