Marc Bergevin confirms P.K. Subban will not be traded

With ridiculous speculation (or hope is perhaps the better word) that the Montreal Canadiens‘ lost season would result in the trade of P.K. Subban, Elliotte Friedman decided to ask Marc Bergevin if that that was a possibility.

The answer is: “No.”

Subban’s commitment to the team game was called out by Michel Therrien in a loss to the Colorado Avalanche earlier this week. The coach placed the loss on Subban’s shoulders after a late turnover resulted in the game-winning goal against.

The next two days were filled with questions of loyalties within the organization, forcing fans to pick sides between the coach and star player of their favourite team. Saturday night, Bergevin made it clear that Subban is not going anywhere, meaning that he and his head coach — who was given a vote of confidence to stay until at least the end of the year — will both be members of the club when the season comes to a close.

P.K. Subban leads the Montreal Canadiens in scoring, with 46 points. His 41 assists rank fourth in the entire NHL.
