P.K. Subban’s last five powerplay goals in one gif

Due to Montreal’s ongoing struggles with the powerplay, certain pundits had preposterously suggested removing Montreal’s best scoring threat from the man advantage. Thankfully, Michel Therrien ignored the shortsighted suggestions and continued to trust his superstar defender. The trust is paying off.

There’s no secret to Subban’s powerplay scoring prowess; he possesses a cannon of a shot, which led him to his 11th goal of the year this evening.

Here are his last five powerplay goals, scored on December 1st vs the Colorado Avalanche, December 5th vs the Chicago Blackhawks, January 14th vs the Columbus Blue Jackets, January 17th vs the New York Islanders, and tonight versus the Nashville Predators.

Subban is on pace for a 20 goal year, which would be his highest since he scored 14 as a rookie in 2010. His current pace of 31 points in 45 games places him at a 57 point pro-rated season, which would be another career high for the former Norris winner.
