P.A. Parenteau injury: Habs forward leaves game after a big Tim Sestito hit

After taking a hit from the DevilsTim Sestito, P.A. Parenteau would leave the game, not to return. We don’t yet know the extent of the injury, but it was clear this hit took it’s toll on the Habs sniper.

As Parenteau carried the puck out of his zone and towards centre, he was rocked by a waiting Sestito, and subsequently proceeded directly to the Habs bench. As you can see in the video, Sestito clearly left his feet for the hit, and there appeared to also be some contact with the head on the play. There was no call on the ice, so we’ll have to wait and see if the NHL decides it was enough to warrant supplementary discipline.

Also unclear is if, or how long Parenteau will be out of action. Losing him would be a big hit for the Habs forward depth, but luckily they have a number of talented young forwards who can step up in his absence.
