Tomas Plekanec Czech Extraliga Kladno Last Week 2 1 0 1
Total 11 8 8 16

Another one point week for Plekanec, this time a goal. Kladno seems to be having a bit of trouble scoring as of late.

Andrei Markov KHL Vityaz Chekhov Last Week 3 0 0 0

Markov seems to be playing well for Vityaz, but he’s not putting up the points we would expect from him. His time in the KHL may be doubly important in his journey to becoming an impact player again.

Emelin is finally playing with Ak Bars Kazan after a bit of a delay. He was held without a point in his first 3 games, but he seems to be having a good start with a +3 rating.

Sebastian Collberg Elitserien Frölunda Last Week 3 0 0 0
Total 15 0 2 2

Collberg wasn’t able to add to his point totals this week, however with Matt Duchene joining the Frolunda Indians, it seems like just playing in the games is a bit of a positive. As it stands Collberg may have worked himself past the point where he would be a 13th forward.

Magnus Nygren Elitserien Färjestads Last Week 3 0 1 1

Nygren continues to play big minutes for Färjestads and contribute offensively. This week with an assist instead of a goal. I’m still not 100% sure what to make of Nygren as a player.

Erik Nystrom Super Elit U20 Modo U20 Last Week 2 0 0 0

Nystrom went pointless in two games this week, and to cap off the disappointment there, one of his goals from last week was retroactively taken away.

Daniel Pribyl Czech Extraliga Sparta Praha Last Week 2 0 2 2

One of Pribyl’s games this week was for the European Trophy, but I’ve included it for the regular season total here. It was revealed this week that Pribyl wasn’t being scratched, which is a good thing, he was injured to start the year. Glove tap to Robert Rice for that info (@Seriousfan09). Pribyl has had a strong return from injury, wracking up an assist in every game.

Maxim Trunev KHL Lokamotiv Yaroslavl Last Week 0 0 0 0

Alex Galchenyuk OHL Sarnia Sting Last Week 4 0 5 5
Total 11 4 10 14

Galchenyuk isn’t producing the points many expect from a top 3 overall pick, but we have to remember he’s still coming off of major surgery. By all accounts his defensive play has been off the charts, and despite not scoring a goal this week, he doubled his assist total in 4 games. Galchenyuk leads Sarnia in scoring by 3 points.

Charles Hudon QMJHL Chicoutimi Last Week 2 1 2 3
Total 11 9 7 16

Hudon really only played 1 game this week, as he was knocked out of the second game in the first period with a concussion off of a high, illegal hit that resulted in a suspension. There haven’t been any details released on how serious the concussion is, but concussion is never a word you like to hear. That all said, in the one game Hudon was able to play, he was great again. Despite missing several games, Hudon still leads Chicoutimi in scoring and is 16th in the QMJHL, 12th in goals.

Mike Cichy NCAA Western Mich. Last Week 3 1 3 4
Total 3 1 3 4

Cichy is also off to a strong start with 4 points in his last two games. Cichy has already matched his point total for his first NCAA year, and he’s more than halfway towards his second year total. He missed all of last season after transferring schools due to draconian NCAA rules, so this is his senior year. He’ll have to continue to make the most of it in order to establish himself as an NHL prospect.

Colin Sullivan NCAA Boston College Last Week 2 0 0 0
Total 2 0 0 0

Sullivan joined a strong hockey program at Boston College (Brian Gionta’s alma mater where he put up 232 points in 164 games, including 123 goals) after playing in a high school league last year. It’s going to be a tough adjustment for Sullivan, as he’s never faced competition like this. He’s already a -4.
