Monday Habs Links: No rest for Alex Galchenyuk

Montreal Canadiens Links

  • Despite playing a critical role in Saturday’s 3-2 overtime victory over the Florida Panthers, Alex Galchenyuk refused to take a day off on Sunday. The 20 goal scorer was the only top six forward on the ice during Sunday’s optional skate. [TVA]
  • Injured defenseman Tom Gilbert was also on the ice yesterday, and appears to be nearing a return the lineup. [La Presse]
  • One of the big questions with the potential return of Gilbert is: Who will he take out of the lineup? Greg Pateryn is certainly giving Michel Therrien something to think about. The 24-year-old has been a solid addition to the lineup since being recalled from the Hamilton Bulldogs. [Canadiens]
  • Pateryn was praised for his strong play, as well as giving the team an emotional boost after his big hit on Jimmy Hayes early in Saturday’s game. [The Gazette]
