For the second time today, Marc Bergevin has deferred for the Montreal Canadiens into 2021. Trading the 97th overall pick to the San Jose Sharks, he will add a third-round pick for the 2021 draft.

Once again, there probably wasn’t anyone that the Habs coveted, so they move up a round with their pick but they won’t get to use it until next year. A net gain for the Habs if there wasn’t anyone they wanted.
