Let’s start with some good news, it appears that Tom Gilbert is nearing a return, as he skated for the first time since his injury. For what it’s worth, he didn’t skate with the team.

On the flip side of the coin, Devante Smith-Pelly’s tenure with the Habs continues to be a struggle. He appeared to be the odd man out as practice started.

The new lines indicate that Smith-Pelly will indeed be a healthy scratch during tonight’s match up with the Panthers. This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, seeing as how he’s been mediocre at best during his brief stay with the Habs.
