Game 31: Montreal Canadiens @ Winnipeg Jets
Start time: 7:30 PM EST / 4:30 PM PST
In Canada: Sportsnet (English)
In the Canadiens region: RDS (French)
Streaming: ESPN+, RDS, Sportsnet
Jake Allen gets the start in Winnipeg tonight, having not won a game since October 28 versus … the Jets. He faced a season-high 45 shots that night, allowing three goals in a 4-3 shootout win.
The Canadiens are playing better for their goaltenders in recent games, which just might be what Allen needs to get back in the win column. The Canadiens have been the better team in the last three games they’ve played, and the lack of finish that held them winless in the first two was erased in explosive fashion on Saturday in a four-goal second period.
That night the Canadiens had all four lines going well. If they want to beat one of the top defensive teams in the league, they will need that type of performance again, and for all 60 minutes of action.
