Canadiens vs. Jets third period thread

P.K. Subban coughed up the puck in his own zone after having been on the ice for over two minutes on an unsuccessful powerplay. Mark Scheifele took the puck in alone and beat Mike Condon to put the Jets up 1-0 just over four minutes into the first period. That was Scheifele’s fifth goal in six games.

One minute and thirteen seconds later, the Jets turned over the puck in their own zone with a weak clearance around the boards that was stopped by Mark Barberio along the boards and towards the net where Max Pacioretty centered it back-hand between his legs to Alex Galchenyuk who was waiting all alone in front to tie it 1-1. That was Galchenyuk’s sixth goal in his past six games, and his twentieth goal of the season (the second time in his four-year career he’s reached that milestone).

The Habs definitely came with more energy in the second period, outshooting the Jets 15-10 in the second period and out-possesing them 25-18 CF despite being down a man twice.
