The Canadiens have been giving up early goals a lot lately, but tonight it was their turn to finally strike first, as David Desharnais opened the scoring less than two minutes into the first period.
The Habs heavily outshot the Leafs throughout the period, and while they struggled mightily on the power play, they were clearly the better team in the frame. It paid off too, as Tomas Fleischmann would snipe one of his own on the rush later in the period.
If they can put together a couple more periods like that, they may just be able to end this losing streak.
