Canadiens vs. Predators second period thread

After Nathan Beaulieu was an inch away from putting the Habs up 1-0 by back-handing a shot just wide of Pekka Rinne’s post, the Predators took the puck up the ice and drew a penalty, and banged home the opening-goal on the delayed call with Viktor Arvidsson potting his sixth goal of the season.

The Habs were trailing 6-1 in shots on net and 10-3 in shot attempts by the first commercial break 7:25 in.

They would eventually start shooting, turning up the possession in the second half of the first period, mounting to an even 18-18 CF by the end of the period. Brendan Gallagher tied it with 1:17 left in the first period after he sought out a rebound with two Preds on him in close to Pekka Rinne.

The Canadiens are holding strong in this one after a slow start. They drew a late penalty and will have almost a complete powerplay to begin the second period.
