Canadiens vs. Panthers third period thread

Alex Galchenyuk took a four minute high-sticking penalty 1:20 into the second period. The Habs had nearly killed it off, thanks in part to a Reilly Smith penalty midway through the Panthers’s powerplay, when Nick Bjugstad shovelled a puck out of midair on a rebounded shot from the point with twenty seconds left on the Panthers’ four-minute advantage.

The Panthers upped their lead to 3-0 with just over seven minutes left in the second period with Jiri Hudler swatting home a rebound in close for his 13th goal of the season.

Alex Galchenyuk cut the lead to 3-1 later in the second period, with his 26th goal of the season, and twelfth goal in his past ten games . Mark Barberio drew an assist on the play four his fifth point in the past five games.
