Canadiens vs. Hurricanes third period thread

The Habs did not come out with a very convincing performance to start the second period, and eventually ended up giving the Hurricanes another opportunity on the powerplay. Fortunately, the Canadiens were able to kill off the disadvantage, allowing them to draw even in the game just after the eight minute mark of the second period.

Max Pacioretty ripped home his 20th of the season on a set-up from the point from Andrei Markov and P.K. Subban.Markov recorded his 407th career assist on the play.

Lars Eller kept it 1-1 on an amazing block as the Canes attacked the net on a three on two. Eller fell horizontally just as the shot came off Noah Hannifan’s stick and blocked it off his shin-pads to prevent the shot from reaching his keeper.

The Habs have the lead in five-on-five shot attempts, edging the Canes 27-24. It’s 1-1 heading into the second period.
