Canadiens vs. Flames third period thread

The Habs came out stronger to start the second period, leading the Flames in possession 6-1 in shot attempts by the first commercial timeout. The Flames started to fire back, but a lot of shots were being blocked or missing the net. Midway through the second period, the Habs had only recorded one shot on net for the period.

The Flames overtook the Habs in possession and shots on net, scoring on their seventh shot of the period after a turn over in the offensive zone by Alex Galchenyuk. The Habs were held to just four shots on net for the first sixteen minutes of the second period.

The Flames added to their lead with just under a minute left in the second period, with Sean Monahan left completely alone in front of the net with four Habs players around him, but unchallenged, Monahan deflected a slap-pass from the point the put his team up 2-0.
