It was a tough week West coast trip by the Habs, and the individual player trends reflect it. Lots of new players joined the fold, including a new goaltender, a new elite winger and a veteran defenceman.

Tokarski performed well in San Jose, and recorded his first NHL shutout with a win versus the Sabres. |

| P.K. Subban |  |
The reigning Norris winner has 5 points in his last 5 games and is playing good hockey, however it’s worth noting he struggled against the Sharks and was on the ice for two goals against, while playing with rookie Tinordi. |
| Andrei Markov |  |
The General has managed to put up 7 points in 7 games since returning from Sochi, although he too was victimized against the Sharks, along with the rest of the defensive corps. |
| Josh Gorges |  |
Gorges suffered a fractured hand versus the Maple Leafs. However he did manage play a few more games before having to return to Montreal for surgery. |
| Alexei Emelin |  |
Alexei Emelin continues his immense struggle this season. Another week led to another string of highlights involving his defensive deficiencies. He might just be the worst defenceman Montreal has on the roster, Murray included. |
| Mike Weaver |  |
Newly acquired and thrown to the wolves, Mike Weaver has played about as well as anyone could expect. It’s unfair to judge his play based on the circumstances. |
| Francis Bouillon |  |
Bouillon has been a healthy scratch since January 24th. Happy retirement Francis. Enjoy the roster spot. |
| Douglas Murray | |
Douglas Murray screens his own goalies, is always out of position and is slower than your average sloth. |
| Davis Drewiske | |
Drewiske has been reassigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs where he is currently getting used to the pace of the game after a 6 month layoff. |
| Jarred Tinordi | |
Tinordi joined the fray after the Olympics and has provided the Canadiens with exactly what they expect, lots of hits and energy. He has no previous trend to compare, however it should be noted that he’s played reasonably well while paired with Subban, even though he still produces a rookie mistake here and there. |

The always-underrated forward received his best line-mate in a long time, in trade deadline acquisition Vanek, however he is yet to provide much chemistry with Vanek which is par for the course. |
| Brian Gionta |  |
He did manage to score versus the Ducks, but Gionta’s defensive play has left a lot to be desired this week, including a few failed assignments that cost the Habs goals. |
| Daniel Briere | |
Marc Bergevin’s big off-season acquisition has been relegated to the 4th line, and seems to be destined to waste away with low quality wingers. |
| Lars Eller |  |
Eller is colder than shaved polar bear. He can’t seem to buy a goal despite some decent effort and a high energy level. |
| Alex Galchenyuk | |
Galchenyuk has been playing well since his return from injury, however he continues to suffer (like every other NHL player) from inconsistency issues. |
| Brandon Prust |  |
He suffered a shoulder injury and has not played since the NHL has returned to action following the Olympics. |
| David Desharnais | |
Desharnais’ line continues to be Montreal’s main source of offense, however he was exposed in the San Jose game to the tune of a -3. |

Pacioretty seems to be Montreal’s only reliable source of goals among the forwards. |
| Brendan Gallagher | |
Gallagher and Pacioretty both verged on an upward trend this week, however the calamity versus the Sharks prevented them from doing so. |

Ryan White has been playing some very smart hockey. The bar is set a little lower for fourth liners, meaning White earns himself a rare upward trend for the week. |
| Travis Moen | |
Moen’s fantastic advanced stats to start the season are slowly normalizing, however he did not impact his team in a negative fashion this week. |
| Michael Bournival | |
Bournival missed Saturday’s game versus the Lightning with the flu. He’s currently on a 9 game pointless streak and hasn’t managed to create many offensive chances in recent games. |
| Rene Bourque | |
If Rene Bourque had a lifetime movie made about his NHL season the lead role would go to Rob Ford. |
| George Parros |  |
Parros played versus the Ducks, he had a fight, a minor penalty and a minus. Classic Parros. |
| Thomas Vanek |  |
Vanek joined the Habs at the deadline and was held pointless in two games. However it’s worth noting that he hasn’t yet had a chance to practice much with the team, and it’s always a challenge to join a team mid-season, especially one coached by Michel Therrien. |
| Dale Weise | |
Weise has been a healthy scratch for the majority of the last stretch of games. His most notable contribution to the team so far has been the concussion he gave Bournival with his stick. |
