The Montreal Canadiens have signed Michael Chaput to a one-year, two-way contract.

The 26-year-old forward spent time in both the Columbus Blue Jackets and Vancouver Canucks organizations before signing with Montreal. After playing predominantly in the AHL, he got a shot with the Canucks last season, contributing nine points in 68 games.
Chaput will most likely join the Laval Rocket of the AHL. It appears the Canadiens are intent on making their farm team a legitimate contender for the 2018-19 season.
