Montreal Canadiens send Gustav Olofsson to Laval Rocket

The Montreal Canadiens have sent defenceman Gustav Olofsson to the Laval Rocket.

Olofsson played three games for the Canadiens, including Tuesday night against the New York Islanders, but played under six minutes. Olofsson will rejoin the Rocket today who have a game at home against the Cleveland Monsters on Wednesday night.

It should be expected that Olofsson is in the Rocket lineup. In his three games with the Canadiens, Olofsson was a minus-4 and never had the trust of Claude Julien, playing under 25 minutes total in his three games. It was Olofsson’s first NHL action since the 2017-18 season when he played for the Minnesota Wild.

Olofsson has played 20 games for the Rocket, with seven assists. The Rocket also expect to have Xavier Ouellet, Alex Belzile, and Evan McEneny available to them as they are starting to get healthier. Charlie Lindgren is expected to get the start with Keith Kinkaid backing him up.
