Montreal Canadiens send Charlie Lindgren to Laval Rocket

The Montreal Canadiens have sent Charlie Lindgren to the Laval Rocket, calling Michael McNiven to the taxi squad in his place.

This provides Lindgren with an opportunity to play in games. He has yet to play this season as he has been on the taxi squad all season. This has no effect on his waiver situation, as he has already cleared waivers. The Rocket have a stretch of four games in six days that started on Monday night.

McNiven has played in one game for the Rocket this season, one that he won. He now gets to travel with the NHL team on the taxi squad. Vasili Demchenko started on Monday for the Rocket. It should be expected that Lindgren and Cayden Primeau will split time over the next three games.

The Rocket play the Manitoba Moose on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. All games will be at home at the Bell Centre. The Canadiens head to Winnipeg for two games following their game on Tuesday in Ottawa. McNiven was born in Winnipeg.
