During the second intermission of Friday’s game in San Jose, it was announced that Joel Armia had been recalled from the Laval Rocket. Arber Xhekaj, initially listed as day-to-day, has also been placed on Injured Reserve to open up the spot for his arrival.
The Canadiens were playing with just 12 forwards following the injury to Rafaël Harvey-Pinard, and had recently recalled Mattias Norlinder to give them an extra defenceman on the roster. Now the team has an additional player at each of the skating positions as it continues its road trip through California.
Armia will be with the team when it arrives in Los Angeles for an afternoon game on Saturday.
