The Juniors Report
The Montreal Canadiens organization currently features prospects playing in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), the Western Hockey League (WHL), the USHL (United States Hockey League), and the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association). These leagues can be considered the primary conduit towards professional hockey in North America.
Here’s how the players in the aforementioned leagues performed last week:

Jeremiah Addison: It was a quiet week for the Ottawa 67’s forward. He marked an assist in his first game, a 4-3 win over the North Bay Battalion. He matched that contribution in his next game, a 3-0 win over Oshawa Generals. He went without a point in his final game, a 2-1 win over the Windsor Spitfires.
Daniel Audette: The Sherbrooke Phoenix winger is currently mired in a scoring slump. He went without a point in his first game, a 4-3 loss to Blainville-Boisbriand Armada. He broke a three game point drought in his next outing, collecting two assists in a 6-3 loss to the Val d’Or Foreurs.
He went scoreless in his final game, a 4-3 overtime loss to the Qubec Remparts. Audette has just two points in his last five games, and has just one goal in his last seven games. Surely, he’s looking to pick up the production soon.
Simon Bourque: The strong offensive season of the Rimouski Oceanic captain is very hard to ignore these days. he marked two assists in his first game of the week, a 5-2 win over the Drummondville Voltigeurs. He collected an assist in his second and final game of the week, a 4-2 win over the Moncton Wildcats.
Bourque’s three points this past week saw him tie his previous season scoring mark of 38 points, but he has done it in 17 fewer games. He is currently tied for third in scoring on Rimouski, and stands at seventh overall in scoring among QMJHL defencemen. A breakout year in many ways for him.
Matt Bradley: The inconsistencies of Bradley’s season have once again cropped up. He went without a point in all three of his games with the Medicine Hat Tigers this past week, a 7-1 loss to the Saskatoon Blades, a 4-1 loss to the Red Deer Rebels, and a 4-1 loss to the Swift Current Broncos.
Bradley has just one point in his last six games, and has posted a rather unremarkable .68 points per game average in his first post-draft season.
Noah Juulsen: It was a rare spike in offensive production for the Everett Silvertips defenseman this past week. He marked a goal and assist in his first game, a 6-4 loss to the Victoria Royals. It was his first multipoint game in 13 games. He went without a point in his next two games, a 3-2 loss to Portland Winterhawks and a 3-0 loss to Victoria. He marked a goal in his final game, a 3-2 win over the Spokane Chiefs.

Jake Evans: This kid is proving himself as one of the top players for the University of Notre Dame this season. He marked an assist in his first game, a 4-1 win over the University of Maine. He took over his team’s offence in the following game, scoring a goal and two assists, as Notre Dame swept the weekend series against Maine with a 5-1 victory.
Evans now stands as the scoring leader on Notre Dame with 31 points in 29 games this season.
Nikolas Koberstein: Due to a bye in the University of Alaska Fairbanks schedule, Koberstein did not play any games this past week.
Hayden Hawkey: After riding much of the season on the bench, Hawkey started his first game since early January, and did not waste it, as he posted a 24-save shutout to lead Providence College over the University of Connecticut 4-0. It was his first shutout in NCAA hockey, in only his second career start.
Michael McNiven: It was a week of highs and lows for the Owen Sound Attack netminder. McNiven allowed three goals on 22 shots before being pulled for the third period, his team eventually routed by the Barrie Colts 5-0. McNiven stood out in his next start, stopping 21 of 22 shots to help his team to a 2-1 overtime win over the Sault Ste Marie Greyhounds.
McNiven’s .908 save percentage has him ranked 10th among OHL goaltenders.
