Sebastian Collberg 19 Elitserien Frolunda Regular Season 35 6 3 9
Elitserien Frolunda Playoffs 5 0 2 2
Allsvenskan Orebro HK Regular Season 15 6 2 8

Collberg inked an amateur tryout deal with the Hamilton Bulldogs yesterday and will join them on their current road trip.

Magnus Nygren 22 Elitserien Farjstads Regular Season 51 13 19 32
Elitserien Farjstads Playoffs total 10 1 3 4
Last week 4 1 0 1

Nygren has scored his first playoff goal of the season, but it wasn’t enough for Farjstads to stave off elimination. There are rumblings that after getting Collberg, Kristo, Vail, Hudon, and Archambault to Hamilton, that Marc Bergevin will be trying to steal him to North America.

Erik Nystrom 19 Allsvenskan Kalskrona HK Regular Season 23 5 6 11
Allsvenskan Kalskrona HK Qualifications 5 0 2 2
Super Elit U20 Modo U20 Regular Season 22 8 16 24

Nystrom’s season is over, so I guess I will opine on what his season means. To me, the 6th round pick has gone a long way towards establishing himself as a legitimate prospect for the Canadiens. Is he going to crack the top 25 under 25? Not a chance, but he’s put himself on the radar by forcing his way into an adult league.

Daniel Pribyl 20 Czech Extraliga Sparta Praha Regular Season 42 12 10 22
Czech Extraliga Sparta Praha Playoffs 6 0 0 0

Another young Habs prospect’s season is over in Daniel Pribyl. Pribyl has made strides over last year, staying with the big club the entire season instead of being bounced around into junior leagues all the time, and his production has been much improved. Before this season, Pribyl had just 2 points in 20 games in the top Czech league. That improvement is very significant, but it remains to be seen if it’s enough. The Allsvenskan is a tougher league than the Extraliga, which means he’s been matched or overtaken by Nystrom, who’s a year his junior. Pribyl has a long road ahead before the NHL is a possibility.

Canadian Hockey League

Brady Vail 19 OHL Windsor Regular Season 68 20 35 55
AHL Hamilton Regular Season 6 1 1 2
Last week 2 1 0 1

Vail hit a milestone this week with his first ever professional point while playing with the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs haven’t exactly been playing lights out, but it seems like even at 19 Vail is holding his own, which is a good sign for his future. Though with the influx of players the Bulldogs have had lately, Vail won’t be playing every game.

Olivier Archambault 20 QMJHL Drummondville Regular Season 64 32 34 66
QMJHL Drummondville Playoffs 5 2 4 6
AHL Hamilton Regular Season 4 0 0 0
AHL Hamilton Last Week 4 0 0 0

After being eliminated from the QMJHL playoffs, Archambault signed an amateur tryout deal with the Bulldogs. By all accounts, he hasn’t looked out of place, but he has yet to hit the scoresheet. He’s currently playing on a line with another new Bulldog, Danny Kristo.

Charles Hudon 18 QMJHL Chicoutimi Regular Season 56 30 41 71
QMJHL Chicoutimi Playoffs 6 5 5 10
AHL Hamilton Regular Season 3 1 0 1
AHL Hamilton Last Week 3 1 0 1

Hudon did everything possible for Chicoutimi in the first round, including scoring 3 goals and 3 assists in his final two games, but he couldn’t power his team past the powerhouse Quebec Remparts. Hudon went on to join the Bulldogs, and as the youngest player in the AHL, scored the game winning goal in just his second pro game. The talent level of this young man is obvious.

Mac Bennett 22 NCAA Michigan Regular Season 32 6 12 18
Last week 0 0 0 0

Mac Bennett’s season is over, meaning he has just one more year left at Michigan to impress the Habs’ brass enough to earn a professional contract. With the Habs’ depth at defense, this may be very difficult.

Danny Kristo 22 NCAA North Dakota Season total 40 26 26 52
AHL Hamilton Regular Season 3 0 1 1
Last week 3 0 1 1

Kristo couldn’t bring a national championship to UND like he wanted, but now that he’s signed his entry level contract, he’s able to adapt to the pro game, hopefully in time to join the Canadiens in the playoffs. He grabbed an assist in his first pro game, but was unable to produce anything in the two games since. Last night with their shutout loss, the Bulldogs were officially eliminated from the AHL playoffs.

Mark MacMillan 21 NCAA North Dakota Regular Season 41 13 12 25
Last week 0 0 0 0

MacMillan’s season is over, and it ends in bitter disappointment. After ripping it up in the first half of the season, MacMillan went on an epic cold streak which resulted in a season that was only marginally better than his freshman year. MacMillan will be looking to play a much bigger role for UND next season with Danny Kristo gone to the pro ranks, let’s see if he can take advantage.

Liga Süpahappifunbäal

Sprague Ribinsoin 27 Liga Supa Glöorpf HK Regular Season 37 237 0 237
Liga Supa Glöorpf HK Playoffs total 11 107 0 107
Last week 4 0 0 0

Sprague had an extremely odd week, as all 5 goaltenders in Glöorpf’s system were injured in a period of 7 hours right before the second round of the playoffs. The team was desperate, and due to an obscure rule in the Liga Süpahappifunbäal written in 1963 for reasons unknown, Glöorpf was forced to draw straws from within their roster to choose who would play goal for the rest of the playoffs. And of course their star goalscorer drew the short straw. With Ribinsoin forced to play goal for the first time in his life, since even as a kid he never played goal while learning the game with his dad, as his dad doesn’t shoot, Glöorpf was blown out in 4 straight games, ending Sprague’s season. Speculation on the twittersphere instantly went rabid, as calls for Bergevin to bring Sprague over to Hamilton with all the other young prospects filled the interwebs. It’s unknown at this time if Sprague is interested in coming over.
