Habsent Minded Episode 2.7: The Summer Showcase

In the new episode of Habsent minded Patrik Bexell, Scott Matla, and Julian McKenzie discuss the Charles Hudon signing, and the implications for Montreal going forward. What does the new contract mean for Hudon himself and how long can Montreal keep ‘the Kid’ at home?

In other news this week Canadiens owner Geoff Molson took a chance to address questions from the fans. Mr. Molson described his thought process about not spending to the cap – and the panel has something to say about the owner’s answer.

The upcoming week is also relevant for some of the prospects in the Montreal system when some will line up for their national teams in the World Junior Summer Showcase in Plymouth, Michigan.  Jordan Harris and new fan favourite Cole Caufield will line up for the USA while Jayden Struble sits at home after his injury suffered during the development camp. Cole Fonstad and Allan McShane will play for Canada and Jacob Olofsson will wear Sweden’s Tre Kronor jersey.

The panel discusses the expectations that rests on the shoulders of the players, and Caufield especially, along with the implications for the upcoming WJC.

Patrik also got hold of Swedish coach Tomas Montén to get a few quotes about how the coach sees the role of Jacob Olofsson in the WJSS and the potential addition of Mattias Norlinder for the World Junior Championships.
