Habsent Minded Episode 3.2: 2020-21 Liiga preview with Jokke Nevalainen

After releasing the SHL preview podcast last week, there were voices in the comment section who suggested a similar approach to the Finnish Liiga. Your wish is our command, so here we are!

Patrik Bexell and Anton Rasegård are back at it with another episode of Habsent Minded. However, with both of them being born on the wrong side of the Baltic Sea, they decided to invite a real expert to help guide them through the Finnish jungle.

Jokke Nevalainen is the Head of European Scouting for Dobber Prospects, a site that provides the public with accurate reports on all things draft and prospect related. In this podcast, he gives us his opinion on which teams will be battling in the top and in the bottom of Liiga when spring comes around.

There are three players affiliated with the Montreal Canadiens currently playing in the Finnish top tier. Which roles does Jokke Nevalainen see them getting on their new teams during this season?

With the draft less than a week away and talking to a draft guru, we can’t resist delving into the European, and especially the Finnish prospect pool. How does a guy like Anton Lundell compare to 2018 third overall pick Jesperi Kotkaniemi?

Also, hear Jokke’s takes on the rest of the Finnish class of 2020, as well as an amuse-bouche about the projected top selections for 2021 and 2022.

Many thanks to Jokke Nevalainen for taking the time to join us and spread his wisdom! He can be found on Twitter under @JokkeNevalainen and on Dobberprospects.com, where he is also hosting the podcast Dobber’s Draft Cast together with Tony Ferrari.
