Montreal Canadiens place Chris Terry on waivers

The Montreal Canadiens are starting to get healthy, and while that’s good news for some, it’s not so good news for others.

With returning players means players returning to the AHL’s St. John’s IceCaps and the Habs placed forward Chris Terry on waivers today.

Terry played 14 games in the NHL this season for Montreal, picking up two goals and two assists. If he is not claimed, he will return to the AHL where he was dominant. Terry had 10 goals and 16 assists in 20 games with the IceCaps.

He is the third player sent down since the Canadiens loss to the Wild. Nikita Scherbak and Bobby Farnham were sent down earlier.

Terry has cleared waivers once but because he had been in the NHL for 10 games and 30 days, he requires them again.

The Canadiens now have 13 healthy forwards on the roster. It is expected that Daniel Carr will be a healthy scratch with the return of Andrew Shaw and Alex Galchenyuk.
