With a couple of good games to wrap up what started out as a rough homestand, the Canadiens have returned to the road. This three-game trip begins versus a New Jersey Devils club that is, yet again, not living up to the pre-season predictions despite being a dangerous offensive team.

The feature matchup in this game won’t be top lines opposing one another as it was versus the Edmonton Oilers and Colorado Avalanche, but the goaltending duel between Samuel Montembeault and Nico Daws, a young netminder serving as New Jersey’s best hope in net since Mackenzie Blackwood’s unsuccessful bid with the team. Both sides should be able to generate a few chances tonight, and the best goalie likely comes out on top.
