Montreal Canadiens new Adidas jersey unveiled for 2017-18 season

The Montreal Canadiens had their new home jersey released Tuesday night at an event in Las Vegas prior to Wednesday’s NHL Awards and Expansion Draft.

The NHL switched from Reebok to Adidas jerseys for the 2017-18 season, and while some teams have significant changes, the Canadiens will keep the same look they had for the last two seasons, with the white collar and laces on the home jersey. The road jersey also remained the same.

Both jerseys also have the Habs torch motto “From failing hands, we throw the torch,” in French, on the inside of the collar.

The jersey will likely never change, except for minor tweaks. The last change was the return to the white collar and the laces in 2015.

The newest part is on the back of the jersey where the Adidas logo replaces the Reebok wordmark. Another new change seems to be that the NHL logo is one piece with the jersey. The Reebok jersey had it has a separate layer. That collar is the same of all other NHL teams.

Also leaked was the Canadiens official Draft Cap that will be handed to all Montreal draft picks this season. It will also be by Adidas, and is predominantly red as Adidas likely wants it to tie into the new jerseys.
