The Montreal Canadiens are set to play their first road game of the pre-season on Monday when they travel to Toronto to take on the Maple Leafs.

With only 15 forwards, and day-to-day injuries announced for Joel Armia and Alex Newhook, there aren’t many options at forward for Monday’s game.

Josh Anderson will play on the top line with Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield. Kirby Dach finds Rafaël Harvey-Pinard and Juraj Slafkovský, which appears to be a regular line now. Sean Monahan is playing with Tanner Pearson and Brendan Gallagher, while Emil Heineman is with Jake Evans and Jesse Ylönen. Only Michael Pezzetta is a healthy scratch among forwards.

On defence, Mattias Norlinder will play with David Savard. Arber Xhekaj and Johnathan Kovacevic are one again a pairing, as are Jordan Harris and Logan Mailloux. Gustav Lindström was also announced as day-to-day. It is a game off for Michael Matheson, who is still day-to-day, and Kaiden Guhle.

Jake Allen and Cayden Primeau are the goaltenders for the game in Toronto.
