Montreal Canadiens loan Josh Brook to Germany for start of the 2020-21 season

The Montreal Canadiens have announced that they have loaned defenceman Josh Brook to the Krefeld Pinguine of the German DEL for the start of the 2020-21 season.

Brook will return to North America for the team’s training camp. He played 60 games for the  Laval Rocket last season, scoring four goals and adding 19 assists. It is likely that he will be on the Rocket’s top pairing again this season.

Brook, 21, will be entering his second full professional season and was part of the Canadiens return to play training camp roster, but did not make the final roster that travelled to the bubble in Toronto.

He was the one of the team’s second round picks in 2017, selected 56th overall. He joins a long list of players who have been loaned to European teams to start the season including Jesperi Kotkaniemi, Jesse Ylönen, and Lukas Vejdemo. Brook is the second North American-born player loaned alongside Hayden Verbeek.
