The Montreal Canadiens place Jacob de la Rose on waivers

Montreal Canadiens centre Jacob de la Rose is on the verge of returning to the ice after his health scare from a few weeks ago, but it seems that the Canadiens will want to start him in the AHL. The team has placed de la Rose on waivers.

Eric Engels had reported that de la Rose would be waived earlier this morning.

Over the four years that de la Rose has been part of the Canadiens organization, he has played 119 NHL games, amassing eight goals and 11 assists. He has played 133 AHL games with the  different affiliates, tallying 27 goals and 29 assists. De la Rose did not play in the AHL last season and was signed to a two-year contract with an average annual cap hit of $900,000.

Due to the heart problems that de la Rose suffered at the start of the season, it could be unlikely that any club will claim him.
