Injury Updates: Paul Byron and Andrew Shaw skating again

The Canadiens have dealt with a difficult injury situation very well, with a 6-2-2 record in the last 10 games and currently riding a three-game win streak. The injuries have allowed the club to evaluate the progress of some of their young prospects, and last night the rookies showed their skills.

Those on the injured list are slowly approaching a return to restore the Canadiens to the NHL club that started the season. After Alex Galchenyuk and Andrei Markov practised with the team earlier in the week, news came out on Sunday morning that Andrew Shaw and Paul Byron have also begun their on-ice recovery.

It’s not known how long it will be until either player is back in game shape, but with Galchenyuk expected to return in one of their next few games, the Habs should see a steady trickle of personnel coming back into the lineup.

Galchenyuk could return as soon as Monday night, when the Habs host the Washington Capitals for their first game at the Bell Centre since December 22.
