Player of the Week: Tim Bozon
Bozon showed once again why his scouting profile defines him as a goal scorer. He produced a goal and assist in his first game, a 6-3 win over the Medicine Hat Tigers. He went without a point in the next game, a 5-1 loss to the Moose Jaw Warriors. Bozon then posted his second hat trick of the season, in his final game of the week, a 5-4 overtime loss to the Saskatoon Blades.
He’s now scored 11 goals in his last 10 games. The hat trick also marked his 130th career goal in the WHL, a feat he reached over 242 games, which is not dissimilar to the final career scoring mark of current Hab Brendan Gallagher, who scored 136 goals over 244 games in the WHL.

The Juniors Report
The Canadiens currently feature prospects playing in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), the Western Hockey League (WHL), the USHL (United States Hockey League) and the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association). These leagues can be considered the primary conduit towards professional hockey in North America.

Daniel Audette: It was a short but productive week for the Audette with Sherbrooke Phoenix. He opened the scoring this week in impressive fashion by marking the overtime game-winner in a 5-4 win over the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies.
His second and final game saw him take part in a wild affair, he marked two goals and an assist in an eventual 8-7 shootout loss to the Val-d’Or Foreurs. Audette has notably scored six goals in his last three games, after scoring only six in his previous 21 contests.
Jeremy Grégoire: The captain of the Baie-Comeau Drakkar is proving to be one of their most consistent scorers. He scored a goal and assist in his first game, a 6-2 win over the Chicoutimi Sagueneens. He scored a goal in his next outing, a 6-5 shootout loss to the Moncton Wildcats. He collected an assist in the next game in a 6-1 loss to the Victoriaville Tigres. He missed the scoresheet in his final game of the week, a 4-1 loss to the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada. Gregoire has only failed to register a point in two of his last 13 games.
Michael McCarron: McCarron had a short, albeit productive week with the Oshawa Generals mixed with some discipline issues. He marked an assist in his first game, a 5-3 win over the Peteborough Petes. He doubled his production in the next game, collecting two assists in a 7-1 win over the Kingston Frontenacs. After a tepid start with the Generals, McCarron has scored seven points in his last three games. On a disciplinary note, near the end of the game against the Frontenacs, McCarron was assessed a game misconduct for being Third Man In on a fight has been suspended for two games by the OHL as a result.
Brett Lernout: He went scoreless in his first game, a 2-1 loss to the Prince Albert Raiders. He then marked an assist in the next game, a 5-0 win over the Regina Pats. He missed the scoresheet in his final game of the week, a 5-2 win over the Spokane Chiefs.
Nikita Scherbak: It was a somewhat middling week for the Everett Silvertips star forward. He posted a a stunning highlight reel goal and an assist in his first game, a 4-3 shootout loss to the Tri-City Americans. He went scoreless in his next two games, a 6-0 win over the Vancouver Giants and a 3-2 shootout loss to the Seattle Thunderbirds. Despite the slip in scoring in his last stretch, he stands at 9th overall in WHL scoring.
Nikolas Koberstein: There was some life for Koberstein’s season this past week. He had his first multi-point game of his USHL career marking two assists in a 6-3 win over the Cedar Rapids Roughriders. He went scoreless in his next game, a 3-1 loss to the Muskegon Lumberjacks.
Josiah Didier: There remains only a few blips in Didier’s stat line this season with the University of Denver. He went pointless in his first game, a 4-2 loss to the University of North Dakota. He marked his first point in 11 games, an assist in a 3-3 tie with North Dakota. Didier has just six points in 28 games as a senior at Denver.
Jake Evans: The new year has not been a good one for Jake Evans as he works through his rookie season with the University of Notre Dame. He went without a point in his first game, a 2-0 win over Providence College. He missed the scoresheet in the next game as well, a 3-2 loss to Providence. Evans has only 3 points in his last 11 games.
Mark MacMillan: It was a flat offensive week for MacMillan with the University of North Dakota. In a pair of games versus the University of Denver, he went without a point 4-2 win over Denver and was scoreless in the next game as well, in a 3-3 tie.
Hayden Hawkey: Hawkey has unfortunately been ruled out for the remainder of the 2014-15 season due to suffering tears in his Anterior Cruciate Ligament and Medial Collateral Ligament on November 29.
Zach Fucale: Fucale’s struggles continue to persist despite his movement to a favoured playoff contender in the Quebec Major Junior league. In his only start of the week, he allowed 5 goals on 25 games and was pulled halfway through the game. His save percentage has descended to a very alarming .886 and is ranked 16th in save % among goalies with at least played 25 games played in the league.
The European report:
The SHL is the top professional men’s league in Sweden and is at a comparable level to the AHL. Strong play here can often give indications that the player is moving towards being capable of playing in the NHL.
The Extraliga is the top professional men’s league in the Czech Republic. While it is not at the level of the SHL, it is still a competitive pro league where solid production would give credence to a player’s NHL potential.

Artturi Lehkonen: There was a bit of life to Lehkonen’s season this week. Lehkonen saw himself a healthy scratch to open the week before playing the remaining two games on his team’s schedule. He went without a point in his first game, a 4-3 shootout loss to Djurgardens IF. In his next game he recorded his first SHL point since November 13th, an assist in a 4-0 win over Brynas IF. The assist broke an 18-game points drought in the SHL for Lehkonen, although his goal drought now extends to 29 games.
Joonas Nättinen: It was a productive week for Nattinen with MODO Hockey this past week. He marked two assists in his first game, a 2-1 win over Djurgardens IF. He collected an assist in his next game, a 3-2 shootout loss to Vaxjo Lakers HC. He went without a point in his final game, a 6-1 loss to Skelleftea AIK.
Martin Réway: Reway did not play this week for Sparta Prague as he is out with an undisclosed injury.
