Before the Canadiens wrap up their road trip, the newest professional team in Montreal begins its first ever game, taking on Ottawa in PWHL action. There are plenty of familiar names involved for those who have followed along with the international women’s game, including Marie-Philip Poulin captaining Montreal and Brianne Jenner, former teammate of EOTP’s Matt Drake, helming the team in Ottawa. This is the first of 24 regular-season game for each club before the playoffs begin.

With three losses in three games since the Christmas break, the Canadiens take on arguably the toughest team of the entire trip in the Dallas Stars. Dallas is challenging for the Central Division lead as one of the top offensive teams in the NHL.

Samuel Montembeault has received the call for a second consecutive start as Martin St-Louis wants his best goaltender to help the Caandiens get at least one win. The netminder’s game will be put to the test by a club that has creative forwards throughout the formation.
