Montreal Canadiens announce 2019-20 pre-season schedule

We don’t know who the Montreal Canadiens will draft in the 2019 NHL Draft, but we know when they may get their first game action in a Canadiens uniform as the team announced its pre-season schedule.

The pre-season opens on September 16 at the Bell Centre when they may very well see Jack Hughes or Kaapo Kakko making his NHL pre-season debut. The first overall pick could be in the lineup for the New Jersey Devils that night.

The team then plays two games against the Florida Panthers, and hopefully their new trade acquisition from the off-season won’t get suspended in those games. The second of the two games will be for Kraft Hockeyville in Renous, New Brunswick.

In all, the team will play four games at the Bell Centre and will also make their annual pre-season trips to Toronto and Ottawa.

The seven games on the schedule are the same as last year, after the team said that eight games were too many in 2017-18.

Here is the complete schedule:

  • Monday, September 16: Devils @ Canadiens, 7:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, September 18: Canadiens @ Panthers, 7:00 p.m. (Kraft Hockeyville – Renous, NB)
  • Thursday, September 19: Panthers @ Canadiens, 7:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, September 21: Canadiens @ Senators, 7:30 p.m.
  • Monday, September 23: Maple Leafs @ Canadiens, 7:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, September 25: Canadiens @ Maple Leafs, 7:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, September 28: Senators @ Canadiens, 7:00 p.m./
