Following the Montreal Canadiens’ 4-0 loss to the Boston Bruins, the team sent Michael McCarron back to the St. John’s IceCaps of the American Hockey League.

With the CBA-mandated bye week upcoming, and the IceCaps having a full schedule this week, the move is not unexpected; much like Daniel Carr’s demotion last night. Since his recall at the beginning of February the behemoth forward has recorded just one assist, in a 5-4 win over the Arizona Coyotes. He recorded a pair of fights this weekend: against the Blues and against Kevan Miller of the Bruins, during a frustrating pair of losses.
McCarron joins Carr and Jacob de la Rose back in Newfoundland, giving St. John’s arguably their best roster of the year heading into four crucial divisional games. The IceCaps will clash with the Binghamton Senators on Tuesday and Wednesday, before welcoming the division-leading Syracuse Crunch on Saturday and Sunday.
