Michael McCarron injury: Canadiens prospect out 6 weeks

After Michael McCarron was driven into the net after the play had ended on Tuesday night, colliding awkwardly with the post, there were fears that he had broken his arm, or worse. The news is still bad, but isn’t quite so dire as a badly broken bone.

So McCarron will miss six weeks or more with a shoulder injury, the nature of which is not specified by the Canadiens. McCarron was having a surprisingly good game against Boston, generating scoring chances with his physicality, and shockingly, his skating.

It’s a brutal turn of events for the young forward, who was off to a much better start to the year than last year. He will resume play in the OHL with the London Knights when his shoulder heals.
