Player of the Week: Martin Réway
Réway’s brilliance is hard to contain of late as he continues to impress with Sparta Praha. He started the week with an assist in a 6-3 loss to BK Mlada Boleslav. He then impressed with a three-point game in his next contest, scoring a goal and two assists in a 9-1 win over HC Karlove Vary.
He stunned his competition further in his final game of the week, with his first career four-point game, scoring a goal and three assists in a 9-4 win over HC Slavia Praha. Réway is currently second on Sparta Praha in scoring with 34 points in 31 games. He’s not only the scoring leader among all under-21 players in the league, but among all skaters under the age of 24 as well. He is tied for fourth overall in the Extraliga in assists.

The Juniors Report
The Canadiens currently feature prospects playing in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), the Western Hockey League (WHL), the USHL (United States Hockey League) and the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association). These leagues can be considered the primary conduit towards professional hockey in North America.

Daniel Audette: Audette has had a tough couple of weeks with the Sherbrooke Phoenix, as he missed four games going back into last week while dealing with a bout of pneumonia before returning to the lineup. He scored no points in his first game back, but notched a shootout goal in a 4-3 shootout win over the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada. He went without a point in the next game, a 2-1 win over the Gatineau Olympiques.
Jeremy Grégoire: With the excellence on display in 2015 by Grégoire, it seems hard to believe the Baie-Comeau Drakkar captain missed the first half of the year due to a wrist injury. He picked up an assist in his first game, a 5-1 loss to the Charlottetown Islanders. He marked a goal and two assists in his next game, an 8-5 loss to the Moncton Wildcats. He finished the week off in style scoring the game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory over the Halifax Mooseheads. He is currently enjoying a six-game points streak, having scored six goals and eight assists in that stretch.
Michael McCarron: McCarron is making progress on the scoresheet of late after a rocky transition with his trade to the Oshawa Generals. He scored the overtime-winning goal in his first game, in a 5-4 victory over the Ottawa 67’s. He marked an assist in the next game, in a 5-1 win over the Barrie Colts. He notched a goal in the next game a 5-4 overtime loss to the Peterborough Petes. He went without a point in his final game, a 3-2 shootout loss to the Kingston Frontenacs.
Tim Bozon: Scoring is starting to come and go in bunches for Bozon as he goes through his season with the Kootenay Ice. He scored goal and assist in his first game, a 6-3 loss to the Lethbridge Hurricanes. He went without a point in his next two games, a 4-3 overtime win over the Regina Pats and a 5-1 loss to the Kelowna Rockets. Bozon has 6 goals and 9 points in his last nine games, but has missed the scoresheet in 4 of those games.
Brett Lernout: Lernout continues an even offensive pace with the Swift Current Broncos this season. He went pointless in his first game, a 3-2 shootout win over the Brandon Wheat Kings. He had his first multipoint game in 24 games in the next contest, collecting two assists in a 6-2 win over the Saskatoon Blades. He missed the scoresheet in his next game, a 4-0 loss in a rematch versus Saskatoon.
Nikita Scherbak: Nikita Scherbak will gladly say goodbye to January, his worst offensive month of the season. He went pointless in his first game, a 7-1 win over the Vancouver Giants. He collected an assist in his next game, a 6-3 loss in a rematch against Vancouver. Scherbak scored only 3 goals in 14 contests during the month of January and was his only notable stretch where he scored under a point per game. He does remain 13th in overall scoring in the WHL and 10th in points per game in the WHL at 1.37.
Nikolas Koberstein: Koberstein missed the scoresheet in both games with the Bloomington Thunder this past week, a 4-3 win over the Fargo Force and a 3-2 shootout loss in a rematch against Fargo. Koberstein has 3 points in 40 games in the USHL this season.
Josiah Didier: There remains little to report on Didier’s senior season with the University of Denver. He went pointless in a 3-2 win over the University of Minnesota-Duluth and a 4-2 loss to Minnesota Duluth in the following game. He has 1 goal and 5 points in 25 games this season.
Jake Evans: Evans missed the scoresheet in his only game of the week with Notre Dame, a 5-2 loss to the University of New Hampshire. He missed the team’s second game as a healthy scratch. He has no goals in his last 8 games and only 2 assists.
Mark MacMillan: There is a notable consistency to MacMillan’s season with the University of North Dakota. He went pointless in his first game, a 3-2 OT loss to the University of Nebraska Omaha. He notched a pair of goals in the rematch against Nebraska Omaha to help his team to a 4-3 overtime win. MacMillan’s two goals took him to 15 on his season, a new career high while sitting at 23 points in 23 games this season.
Hayden Hawkey: Hayden Hawkey has unfortunately been ruled out for the remainder of the 2014-15 season due to suffering tears in his Anterior Cruciate Ligament and Medial Collateral Ligament on November 29.
Zach Fucale: Fucale continues to struggle this season, even following a trade to the Quebec Remparts. He allowed 3 goals on 27 shots in his first game, a 5-2 loss to the Drummondville Voltigeurs. He was pulled in his next game after allowing 4 goals on 13 shots versus the Victoriaville Tigres in what would be an eventual 9-4 win for the Remparts. Fucale’s save percentage has fallen to 0.889 this season, ranking him 16th in the QMJHL.
The European report:
The SHL is the top professional men’s league in Sweden and is at a comparable level to the AHL. Strong play here can often give indications that the player is moving towards being capable of playing in the NHL.
The Extraliga is the top professional men’s league in the Czech Republic. While it is not at the level of the SHL, it is still a competitive pro league where solid production would give credence to a player’s NHL potential.

Artturi Lehkonen: The offensive struggles seem to have no end for Lehkonen as he attempts to find the score sheet with Frolunda HC. He went pointless in a 4-3 win over MODO Hockey, a 1-0 loss to Orebro HK and a 4-2 loss to Brynas IF. Lehkonen has no points in his last 18 SHL games and no goals in his last 26 games.
Joonas Nättinen: It was a quiet week for Nattinen with MODO Hockey. He went pointless in his two games, a 4-3 loss to Frolunda HC and a 2-0 win over Farjestads BK. He finished the week picking up an assist in a 5-3 win over Linkopings HC.
