The Montreal Canadiens are really in the head of Milan Lucic. Like, really, deeply in his head. After being completely useless for 95% of his ice time, Lucic took an undisciplined penalty late in the game while the Bruins were trailing to ensure a loss.
Not satisfied with blowing any chance of his team coming back, Lucic started to taunt the Montreal crowd while walking into the penalty box, made a gesture as if he was… choking something on his person, and mocked raising a Stanley Cup, because fans in Montreal are very unfamiliar with those, as you know.
Let’s leave aside all the calls for “class” whatever that is today, and just revel in how incredibly stupid this is. It’s one game, at the beginning of the season, and Lucic is likely going to get a stiff (ahem) fine, and possibly a suspension.
Keep in mind that when James Wisniewski mimed oral sex, he was suspended for two games. With the Bruins off to a miserable 2-4-0 start, that kind of suspension could really hamper a team that doesn’t boast the depth they used to.
