Laval Rocket sign two players to AHL contracts

The Laval Rocket announced the signing of a pair of players to a pair of AHL contracts for the 2018-2019 season.

T.J Melancon is signed to a one-way AHL deal and spent most of this past year in the ECHL with the Norfolk Admirals where he posted 15 goals and 28 assists in 58 games. He also appeared in seven AHL games this year between Belleville, Syracuse and Tuscon where he registered zero points.  He was named to the ECHL’s All-Rookie team.

Morgan Adams-Moisan was signed to a two-way deal, meaning unlike Melancon he can be sent down to the ECHL if needed. Moisan played this past season as an overage player in the QMJHL for Dominique Ducharme in Drummondville where he tallied 32 goals and 29 assists in 68 games. Over the course of his 220 game CHL career Moisan had 42 goals and 44 assists, while Melancon had 29 goals and 70 assists in 200 career games.

This duo becomes the second and third AHL signings for the Rocket recently after they inked Adam Plant to an AHL deal for next season as well. It’s unclear what role they’ll take, but shoring up depth with youthful prospects is a great step forward for a team that appears to have recognized their mistakes from last year.
