2019 NHL Entry Draft: Montreal selects Kieran Ruscheinski at 206th overall

After acquiring an earlier pick in the seventh round, 201st overall, the Canadiens were right back on the clock at 206, and they used their last pick to grab a monster 18-year-old defender from Calgary.

Kieran Ruscheinski stands 6’6’’ and spent most of the last year playing midget hockey in the AMHL with the Calgary Northstars. He’ll likely move up to the AJHL this season, where he played just three games last year. With 11 points in 33 games it looks like the massive defender is more on the defensive side, versus an offensive force.

We’ll have more information on Ruscheinski soon.
