Kaiden Guhle day-to-day with an upper-body injury

The bad luck on the injury front for the Montreal Canadiens carried into Tuesday night’s game, which Kaiden Guhle had to leave due to an undisclosed injury. Plenty of speculation could be found on his status during their off-day on Wednesday, but we now have some clarity on how long he’ll be out now that the team has returned to practice.

Through three games, Guhle has posted some of the best underlying numbers on the blue line. Losing him long-term would have been a significant blow to the team. Luckily, the smoke online was nothing more than smoke, and the team has confirmed he is day to day.

Renaud Lavoie had gone so far on TVA Sports earlier today as to suggest he could be available for Saturday night’s game. This is far from confirmed at this point, as Guhle did not practice today, but according to Lavoie it at least has not been ruled out.

In the interim, it stands to reason that Justin Barron will take his spot in the lineup, should he miss a few games.
