Joshua Roy recalled by the Montreal Canadiens

After the Laval Rocket’s game on Friday night, the Montreal Canadiens announced the recall of Joshua Roy.

Roy is playing his first professional season in the organization, having a very strong showing in the Canadiens’ camp before ultimately being assigned to Laval. The feeling was that he would play out the entire season there, but he clearly made an impression on the Habs brass who watched him play earlier this week.

Roy started the season on a tear before cooling off, but picked his game back up to that level in the past week. He has 30 points through 34 games in his rookie season, and the Habs will hope he can carry that level to an NHL team in need of a spark after some poor outings of late. Roy could make his NHL debut on Saturday when the Canadiens host the Edmonton Oilers.
