Joel Armia has been diagnosed with a concussion after Tyler Myers hit

With under three minutes to go in a 7-3 game, Tyler Myers landed a heavy hit of Joel Armia in the neutral zone. Raising him upper body on the play, Myers caught an unsuspecting Armia. Myers was sent out of the game with a five-minute major and a match penalty to go along with it.

After the game, Claude Julien announced that Armia was diagnosed with a concussion, and will miss some time.

The coach also confirmed that Paul Byron was injured after taking a Shea Weber slapshot to the foot, and will be re-evaluated ahead of the next game on Saturday evening.

Armia put together his best game of the season so far on Thursday night, with two goals and an additional two assists. He will be missed from what has become an exceptional line in this series, but it will open up a slot for one of the other players on the expanded roster to get his chance. Hopefully Armia will be back in the lineup soon.
