Adding injury to insult, trailing 3-1 the Montreal Canadiens lost Jeff Petry to an injury, during the second period against the Dallas Stars. Petry was the victim of a ferocious check by Jamie Benn, and to make matters worse, the Stars would score yet a again seconds after the hit.

There is no word yet on exactly what the injury is, or how long Petry will be out, if at all beyond this game. Thankfully the Habs are pretty deep on the back end this year, and the capable Greg Pateryn will likely be his replacement. Regardless of how capable Patern is, the hope is that Petry can get back to action quickly.
Last year, the Canadiens were extremely fortunate in avoiding injury problems, but this year is the exact opposite. They’ve had tons of problems, and it’s going to be a true test to see if the Canadiens can push through this, considering their equally bad scoring luck as well.
