In the second period of the game between the Montreal Canadiens and Arizona Coyotes, Tomas Tatar attempted to put the puck on net, but had it deflect off a defender into the face of Phillip Danault. Danault immediately dropped to the ice, and was supported by trainers on his way to the dressing room.
The Canadiens have announced that he won’t return to the game for the third period.
Phillip Danault ne sera pas de retour au jeu ce soir.

Danault has been a critical member of the team all season long, one of the few players to start each of the 58 games to this point. If the Canadiens are to pull off this drive to a post-season position, they will need him back in the lineup as soon as possible, so hopefully the injury isn’t one that will keep him out for an extended period.
