[Injury Report] Paul Byron is done for the day with an upper-body injury

In the second period of Sunday’s game between the Montreal Canadiens and Edmonton Oilers, Paul Byron was hit in the offensive zone and fell to the ice. He immediately threw off his gloves and skated to the bench, then made his was to the dressing room, punching the glass as he went.

The Canadiens have now announced that Byron will be unavailable for the third period, out with an upper-body injury.

Byron had dealt with injuries in the summer and during the season as well. Sunday was just his 36th game of the season, and the second after a combination of the All-Star break, Canadiens’ bye week and a three-game suspension had held him out of action for over two weeks.

Hopefully the reaction was more of frustration with his luck rather than the severity of the injury sustained.
