Heritage Classic festivities roll out

The second NHL Heritage Classic, featuring the Montreal Canadiens and the Calgary Flames outdoors at McMahon Stadium, is just under three weeks away.

The league kicked off it’s festivities on Tuesday, as the world’s largest mobile rink refridgeration unit made it’s first stop in Toronto. NHL Vice President of Hockey Operations, and former player, Kris King was on hand as the rig made a stop at a local Canadian Tire Store.

The tour will make stops at Canadian Tire stores in  Winnipeg, Regina and Saskatoon, before arriving in Calgary for the rink build on February 9. There will be fan giveaways and promotions as the tour makes it’s stops.

Yours truly, and Haley from Matchsticks and Gasoline will also be in Calgary to cover the Heritage Classc weekend for our parent site SBNation

Over the coming days, both Hayley and I will be updating on further events surrounding the big game on February 20, so be sure be checking in regularly or follow either her AND Habs Eyes on the Prize, if you are on Twitter.
