Artturi Lehkonen makes it into the SHL Finals

Habs prospect Artturi Lehkonen leads the playoffs in goals with seven, and sits second in points with 12; one behind his linemate and regular season points winner, Ryan Lasch.

Lehkonen has been one of Frölunda’s best players in the playoffs, and in Game Six he was in the spotlight again. First he screened the goalkeeper on the 4-0 goal, then he managed to get an assist later in the game. He was a +4 on the night, and on the ice five of Frölunda’s eight goals.

The opponent in the final will be decided in a Game Seven matchup between the SHL dynasty Skellefteå, who has five consecutive finals appearances and two titles, or last years winners, the Växjö Lakers.

Frölunda has the chance to win the double after having won the Champions Hockey League earlier this season. The best-of-seven SHL Final gets underway on Saturday.

Lehkonen will have the chance to increase his production, and impress Kari Jalonen, the coach of the Finnish national team, for a selection to the Leijonat for the World Championship.
